Hightown’s Estates Department coordinates the upkeep of all communal gardens and land on estates including grass cutting, clearing leaves, weeding, pruning, feeding, cutting and shaping hedges, and maintaining shrubs, beds and borders. On some estates, specific services such as monitoring tree growth and establishing the safety and positioning of trees, or landscaping are also needed.
As a result of a competitive tendering process, Hightown has recently appointed two companies to maintain the grounds of our estates to a specified standard. For a list of which contractor looks after which estate click here.
Other general tasks such as clearing litter, rubbish and other debris, emptying bins, and cleaning communal areas are done by Hightown’s caretakers. Community Pay-Back teams also work on some large estates to collect litter and rubbish that may have accumulated in communal areas.
You can help our contractors to provide an efficient service by moving plant pots or other items which may interfere with grass cutting, on the day it is due to be cut. Please also return refuse bins to their correct storage area.
