A Credit union is a not for profit organisation that offers financial services similar to a bank's, but the ownership of the company is shared by its members.
Credit Unions are a "not for profit" savings and loans co-operative helping members help themselves by developing good savings habits and by offering low cost affordable loans to members based upon their ability to pay and upon their savings history with the Credit Union.

You should consider joining as there may be times when you need to borrow money and rather than pay the very high interest rates of some lenders, you could be enjoying the very low rate of the Credit Union.
