ASB-Our Approach

Hightown has signed up with 'Respect', the anti-social behaviour Charter for Housing, and recognises the importance of tackling anti-social behaviour and the effect it has on residents, estates and communities.  For more information on the Charter please visit www.respect.gov.uk.

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) comes in many forms. It can be anything from low-level, persistent nuisance to serious violence and other criminal behaviour

Some examples are:

  • Harassment - including racial harassment, aggressive and threatening language and behaviour.
  • Actual violence against a people or property
  • Pets allowed to cause a nuisance
  • Noise, often late at night e.g. loud music
  • Obstructing communal areas
  • Anti social parking and abandoned vehicles
  • Vandalism
  • Graffiti
  • Litter and rubbish dumping

We aim to take a balanced but firm approach between preventative, supportive and enforcement methods and where we can we will take a multi-agency approach to tackling problems.
