LOCAL Super hero Mr Impact today (Monday October 1, 2007) launched the first ever Dacorum Street Safe Surgery.
As part of Dacorums ‘Not in my neighbourhood week’ Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association in partnership with the Dacorum Community Safety Partnership are holding the first ever Street Safe Surgery.
The new Street Safe Surgery is an opportunity for residents to discuss community safety issues with all the main agencies under one roof. At the event there will be representatives from the Council, Police, Fire Service, Neighbourhood Watch and Hightown Praetorian & Churches. Dacorums local super hero, Mr Impact, will also be attending the event lending a helping hand to the stands.
Rachel Howe from Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association commented: “We are delighted to be taking part in the Street Safe Surgery. We currently have over 800 homes in Dacorum and are committed to ensuring our residents have access to the best information and advice to live safely in the community.
“The surgery is a great opportunity to gain advice on a variety of topics including anti social behaviour, nuisance neighbours, crime prevention, fire safety and much more. I am confident that everyone who attends will take something away with them.
The event is taking place on Wednesday October 17th between 5pm and 7pm at Bennett’s End Community Centre. Refreshments will be provided to people attending the event.
Clive Townsley, from the Community Safety Partnership added: “The community safety partnership are keen for the residents of Dacorum to understand that there are many agencies in the Borough working hard to make the area a safer place. Crime in the Borough is down but we want to reduce it further, and an event like this can only help us achieve this.”
