Five new affordable homes for local people

Hightown Chief Executive David Bogle with Mark Gaynor, Corporate Director (Housing and Regeneration) Dacorum Borough Council outside one of the new homes in Alexandra Road.Hightown Praetorian and Churches Housing Association has redeveloped two Victorian villas in Hemel Hempstead to provide good-sized affordable homes for five households.

Hightown has worked in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council and the Homes & Communities Agency, which invested almost £230,000 in the project. The new homes have been let to local people through Dacorum’s Choice Based Lettings scheme.

New resident Leanne Rowlatt said “Until now, my daughter and I have been living with my family. Our new home is lovely and for the first time my daughter will not only have a bed of her own but a room of her own.” 

Hightown chief executive, David Bogle said: "The demand for affordable homes in Hertfordshire is continuing to grow, so we are delighted to be working so closely with the local council to provide nearly 200 new homes in Dacorum during 2012."
