Affordable homes in Highfield opened by the Mayor of Dacorum

01.11.2010

Six new affordable homes in Mimas Road, built by Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association (Hightown), were officially opened by the Mayor of Dacorum, Councillor Roger Taylor. Built on the site of a former Council garage court and cul-de-sac off Saturn Way in Highfield, the homes were developed as part of the Dacorum Partnership between Hightown and the Council.

There is one terrace of three 2 bedroom houses and a second terrace of three 3 bedroom houses, each with a private back garden, and provision for two parking spaces each in a central courtyard.

The new homes in Mimas Road were shortlisted for the Dacorum Excellence Design Award.

To date the Dacorum Partnership has delivered 87 rented and 16 shared ownership homes on land owned by Dacorum Borough Council, mainly underutilised garage sites. The last phase will deliver a further 31 affordable homes on three sites.
