The Mayor of Broxbourne, Councillor Mark Mills-Bishop, enjoyed a fundraising coffee morning with the residents of Bishops Court in Cheshunt last Tuesday.
The residents of Bishops Court, hosted the event to raise money for the Mayor’s charity for 2010/11 ‘Teens Unite Fighting Cancer’ - a Broxbourne based charity with a national reach dedicated to improving the quality of life for young people with life limiting illnesses.
With the help of the charity, Bishops Court resident Eileen Phillipson organised the coffee morning along with a fundraising raffle, raising nearly £50 on the day.
Bishops Court provides housing to meet the needs of people over 55, whether they are retired or still working. Managed by Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association (Hightown), the leaseholders have additional facilities over ordinary housing, such as a community room with kitchen, for social events.
