Hightown back Maylands and Hemel Hempstead

05.10.2009

Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association (Hightown) is moving shortly to larger offices on the Maylands Business Park. Their current offices in Queensway, where they have been since 1995, are now too small. The new offices will help Hightown to offer better services to its residents as well as enabling the Association to continue growing by providing new affordable homes and services.

The new offices on Maylands Avenue, are centrally located for the management of ightown’s 3000Hightown’s 3,000 homes in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. On site car parking, a safe drop off point and good bus links will ensure easier access for residents than currently available. The larger building will enable the provision of additional services to residents - plans include internet access, and training and information days.

The move will enable Hightown to offer full access to both residents and staff with disabilities, as the building will comply fully with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

Councillor Andrew Williams, Leader of Dacorum Borough Council said "The Council is very supportive of Hightown's investment in Maylands. Such commitment from a local, growing employer is an important step in the ongoing regeneration of the Heart of Maylands."

David Bogle, Chief Executive of Hightown said “We are pleased to have found another building in Hemel Hempstead to accommodate our growth over the next ten years, which is easy to access for our residents and will enable us to offer improved services. Recent feedback from our residents has indicated that our current offices are unsatisfactory in several ways including disability access, parking and reception facilities.”
