Gadebridge Point Emerges from Kodak

08.09.2009

On Thursday 3rd September 2009, the first residents moved into their new homes on the former Kodak site in the centre of Hemel Hempstead.

The thirty-four one and two bedroom apartments have been completed for Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association (Hightown), by Dandara. They have been rented to residents through Dacorum Borough Council’s Choice Based Lettings System. This system allows residents to have a choice in where they wish to live.

New resident Sarah Gaylor said “we are so excited at the thought of being one of the first residents to move into this new development. It is ideal being located so near to the town centre”.

From November 2009 a further 39 properties will become available to part-buy and part rent, and an additional nine properties will be offered to key workers. These will be situated further along The Cotterells in Bulbourne House and Gade Place.

The mix of homes reflects local housing needs, offering opportunities for those on a low income to rent accommodation, or through low cost home ownership schemes purchase a home of their own.

David Bogle, Chief Executive of Hightown, said “we are pleased to be able to provide these additional high quality homes for local residents, in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council”.
