Hightown now a preferred partner for Broxbourne Council

13.08.2009

Broxbourne Council has extended its development partnership to add Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association to its list of ‘preferred partners’ to develop affordable housing in the Borough.

Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association has a housing stock of over 3,000 with an extensive development programme to increase this with an additional 700 homes over the next three years. It already operates some supported housing in Broxbourne. Hightown Housing Association was formed in 1968 to provide housing principally in the Hemel Hempstead area. It merged with Praetorian Housing Association in 1995 and with St Albans District and Churches Housing Association in 2003.

George Edkins, the Development Director at Hightown said: ‘As a leading Hertfordshire-based charitable housing association, we are delighted to have the opportunity to use our skills and financial resources to help build new affordable homes in Broxbourne’.

Landowners who feel that they have land which could be suitable for an affordable housing scheme can contact the Council on 01992 785 521 to discuss. Alternatively, contact details for Broxbourne Council’s development partners can be found through www.broxbourne.gov.uk/housing
