Tenants Service Authority - the new regulatory body for social housing

09.01.2009

From December 1, 2008, the Tenants Service Authority (TSA) has replaced the Housing Corporation as the new social housing regulator. This means that Hightown Praetorian and Churches Housing Association will be answerable to this new body for the standard of services we provide to our residents.

The aims of the TSA include promoting choice for tenants; listening to tenants' concerns and using its powers to make sure tenants are getting a good service from their landlords. This will be done by challenging housing associations and providers of affordable housing services to meet or exceed the highest standards of organisational effectiveness and service delivery.

The Tenants Services Authority has announced its intention to introduce a new standards framework next year which all housing associations will be expected to achieve.  They will be holding a National Conversation to help them understand what tenants want to see in the new standards.  This will start on 19th January 2009. Click here for more information on how to get involved.

Please log on to the National Conversation Website to order a resource pack by clicking here.

The TSA has powers to intervene in the affairs of any housing association which doesn’t meet their standards.

Hightown will continue to provide the highest level of service to its residents and seeks to involve residents in determining how their estates should be run. As usual, we always welcome suggestions from you. Please feel free to get in touch with us on 01442 292300 or email: housing.services@hpcha.org.uk
