My Story - Neil

Having fallen in with the wrong crowd, Neil found being at university quite stressful, and this began to have a detrimental effect on his mental health. Having consulted his doctor, Neil was referred to Hightown's Satinwood Court supported living scheme, where staff were on hand to provide all of the support he needed.

Two years ago Neil was ready to move on to his own flat. Neil's support worker, Sue, helped him to cope with the stress of moving and supported him as he settled into his new home. Hightown continue to provide Neil with support to help him to manage his own home, live as independently as possible and get the most out of life.

For example, Neil’s support worker has helped him to try new activities and set goals - he now practices DJing in his new home and attends the gym to help him keep fit. Life, for Neil is a lot more positive and he looks forward to trying new things. Neil said " I would encourage anyone who needs support to use Hightown. I cannot thank them enough for the fantastic support they have given me."

Neil enjoys living in his own at home with the support of Hightown.
