Fundraising for Open Door

The Open Door Charity works hard to raise money to support the project and the people who use it, and to promote volunteering. We fund the annual shortfall between public sector grants and the annual cost fo running Open Door, and we are also able to fund some extra support services, including a counselling service. The Open Door Charity raises money from a wide range of sources including charitable trusts, lottery funds, fundraising events, donations from churches, businesses, schools, individuals, groups and St Albans City and District Council.

Become a Friend of the Open Door Charity

When you become a ‘Friend’ your membership fee helps us meet our new fundraising targets. As a registered charity, we can also increase your contribution through Gift Aid, at no extra cost to you. Importantly, if you decide to support our work on a regular basis with a standing order, we can plan our spending with added confidence.

As a Friend of Open Door, you’ll receive:

• The Open Door Newsletter giving you updates on what’s happening at Open Door and how your support is making a difference
• Special invitations to the Trustee's AGM, Open Days and FRIENDS’ Open Sessions at Open Door to have your say about our work

Individuals and organisations that want to support Open Door’s work can become a FRIEND of OPEN DOOR for as little as £12 a year. Under 18’s, students, and other concessions can join for just £8 a year. We welcome FRIENDS from all walks of life and from our existing supporter base. This includes churches, schools, volunteers, businesses, other support agencies and local people who want to see Open Door continuing to make a difference to the lives of homeless and badly-housed people. Simply complete the application form.

Cartridges 4 Causes

Open Door has teamed up with 'Cartridges 4 Causes' who will make a donation each time your order (or recycle) a printer cartridge from them, and choose Open Door as your chosen charity. It’s an easy, low cost way to raise much-needed funds, they offer a wide range of cartridges, inks and toners.
