Staff support service users to gain the skills and confidence necessary for independent living

My story - Matthew

Having been addicted to heroin for 10 years and being homeless, Matthew arrived at Kent House at a very low point, and with no self-confidence at all. Within only 8 months, his life has changed significantly.

No longer using drugs, Matthew’s weekly meetings with his link worker have given him the chance to talk about what he needs to do and what help he needs to achieve these things. Having managed to get his finances sorted, and improving his mental state he is hoping to move on to a home of his own in the near future.

Matthew said “My time at Kent House has been very helpful. Kent House is a safe, friendly place to live and the staff are brilliant.”
