Renaissance

Renaissance is a service that seeks to support adults whose lives have been affected by mental health problems.

Renaissance aims to provide opportunities for adults whose lives have been affected by mental health problems and to people with learning disabilities to develop their knowledge and skills, in addition to meeting new people and encountering new experiences. People attending the sessions will be supported within a non-judgemental, friendly and safe environment.

An important ethos of Renaissance is the sharing of skills and experience so that both people using the service and staff make an important contribution to the project. In addition to attending structured sessions, people will have the opportunity to be part of a team in developing and running the service where all input and contributions will be heard and valued.

We have a varied programme of sessions providing educational, social, creative and practical opportunities for people of all abilities. Sessions take place at Ardenham House and make use of local facilities.

The programmed sessions aim to increase confidence, self-esteem, and sense of acheivement in addition to promoting independence, involvement and activity in the local community. We also offer a variety of valuable work skills opportunities.

Renaissance has a social event each week on a Thursday evening. These provide valuable opportunities for people to meet new friends, reducing social isolation.
