We currently have over 30 dedicated volunteers who make an invaluable contribution to support us to make a real difference to the lives of local people. They play a vital role at Community Meeting Point, giving their time and skills to support the work we do. Volunteering is a positive and rewarding experience, an opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and have lots of fun.
We have a number of different volunteering opportunities available but are currently seeking volunteers who can support us to run our newly established charity shop. Call us today on 01582 762579 to find out more!
Volunteering Opportunities
There are many diverse opportunities available within Community Meeting Point both within the shop and our adjoining activity and resource hub.
Activity facilitator volunteers
Do you have a few hours a week and skills that you could share with our members? If so then perhaps you could facilitate one of our structured activity groups. We run activities in a range of different subjects depending on the needs of members. If you feel you have something to offer please contact us today.
Befriender volunteers
Could you spend a few hours a week working on a one-to-one basis with members? Often our members have lost contact with friends or family, as well as experiencing a loss of confdence in social situations. Our befrienders aim to support members to re-build their confidence by providing a vital listening ear and encouraging members to get out and about to rediscover old interests or learn new ones. The role of a befriender can be diverse and rewarding. Full training is provided.
